Miami-Dade County and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami Partnership is committed to investing in our youth. The Big Brothers Big Sisters, School to Work Mentoring program host students from nearby Miami-Dade County Public high school to the workplace for a shadowing experience with County employees. There are approximately ten participating departments at seven locations. The program begins in October and runs through May each school year.
As an intern with Miami-Dade County, high school students will receive a unique career-related experience. Interns will participate in activities that may include presentations, research projects, program design and everyday shadowing of professionals.
Miami-Dade County in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public School provides a paid summer youth internship program to local high school students. The program offers youth the opportunity to learn and develop employability and money management skills, as well as earn academic credit. The five week program (150 hours required) tentatively begins summer, June through July.
